Families in Crisis This Christmas
Please help us to Get Issy back on her feet
Christmas is such a wonderful time of year for families but it can also be a real struggle for families in crisis and we would like to help.
For instance, Issy has had a tough time of it recently. Six months after giving birth to her beautiful twins, Emily and Henry, she developed severe postnatal depression and required urgent hospital treatment. Thankfully she has been receiving care on a mother and baby unit ever since and her babies have been able to stay with her. But she is due to be discharged soon and we need your help to get her back on her feet.
Issy’s a great mum who has been coping, more or less, on her own. Apart from her new twins Issy also has an older daughter, Sophie, who is four and has been looked after by her grandmother while mum has been on the unit. As you can imagine, Sophie can’t wait to be back together with her little brother and sister and her mum. And it’s even more exciting for her as they are all going to be in a new home as their flat was repossessed while Issy was receiving treatment. It’s going to be an exciting and fantastic step for them all and we want to make this a really positive experience by providing some trained help in the home.
We know the difference your support can make. Earlier this year, we helped a father of new born triplets whose wife died shortly after giving birth. He told us that the help he received during the day and at night meant that he could concentrate on looking after his babies without worrying about how he would cope. I am pleased to report that his babies continue to go from strength to strength.
We are delighted to be supported by Norland Nannies whose nannies are offering to volunteer their expertise for free. Nevertheless, we need to meet their travel costs and need your help.
Please help Issy get the help she needs:
£7 will pay for an off peak travel card and provide help for the family for a day
£30 will pay for a week’s travel
£110 will pay for the whole month
There are also other families in need who have approached us, so the more we raise, the more families we can help. To make sure Issy gets the help she needs as soon as possible, you can make an on-line donation now.
Alternatively, you can donate by text: simply text TWIN02 (followed by a pound sign and the amount you want to donate) to the number 70070. So if you want to donate £10, text TWIN02£10 to 70070. Together we can make this a lovely Christmas for Issy, Sophie, Emily and Henry. Thank You and have a wonderful Christmas.
