One parent families
Sometimes parents who find themselves bringing up their twins, triplets or more on their own can find it challenging.
It can be helpful to speak to others with a similar experience who can offer support and suggestions.
We have a One Parent group, coordinated by a volunteer Lucene Hughes who is a single parent herself.
If you would like some support please email group coordinator Lucene or Tamba support services manager Helen Turier - they will reply to you as soon as they can.
You can chat with other single parents via our closed facebook page, email Tamba office for the link or via the Tamba One Parent Families messageboard.
Here's what some of our parents had to say about the Tamba lone parent facebook page:
"This page is massively helpful and supportive to me, sharing my experience of 5 years as a single parent, and asking others for advice, or just sounding off when it all gets too much! Plus celebrating the good things when they happen too. I am so thankful to Tamba for setting this up and putting us all in contact in a way that wouldn't be possible otherwise. Being a single parent of multiples can be very isolating sometimes, and it is a huge relief to know that the other people on here just get it straight away. Thank you, Tamba!"
"Being a twin mummy can feel like being in a glass room where others judge, so it's great to have an understanding point view and support from others that get it"
"I benefit from knowing I'm not alone in some very difficult trying times! And take comfort in knowing other women in my situation have coped! It gives me hope!"
"It feels comforting to be part of a single parent group with children of multiple births"
Do you need a translator?
If you want to find out more about Tamba's support services, but struggle with English, we can provide you with an interpreter to help you access this service. All you have to do is call the office, or get someone to call on your behalf, on 01252 332344 and request a translator.
From there we will then organise a time and date to give you a call with a translator on the line. Tamba’s translation services are provided by LanguageLine Solutions. who can translate into over 180 different languages. See our translation page for more information.
