Saving lives, supporting families

Tamba and Norland College are finalists in the Nursery World Awards 2017

21st July 2017

We’re excited to tell you our charity, together with Norland College, have been named as finalists in this year’s Nursery World Awards.

We’ve made the shortlist in the Community Support category for “Helping Hands – Supporting Families in Crisis”. The awards are open to anyone involved in early years education and childcare.

Organisers told us we faced “incredibly tough” competition this year, so to be named as a finalist is a tremendous honour for us.

Tamba Support Services Manager, Helen Turier said: “We’re very proud to be named as finalist in this year’s Nursery World Awards.

“Our Helping Hands scheme, which we’re able to provide thanks to the incredible support we receive from Norland College, offers invaluable support to multiple birth families that are struggling to cope.

Helping Hands Supporting Families in Crisis team strive to ensure that  families in crisis move  from a place of stress and anxiety to one of confidence and being more secure in their ability to cope with the challenges that multiples can bring. “

“We help them at a time when life becomes overwhelming. It’s an honour and a privilege when they write to us afterwards and say what a massive difference Helping Hands has made.

“Of course, it would be a great honour to win a Nursery World award, but for us we’re already celebrating the wins we achieve every day when a family tells us what Helping Hands has meant to them.”

Helping Hands aims to provide short-term, practical support in the home to families with multiples who are in severe need or crisis. Helping Hands still needs your support – if you would like to donate, please visit our website or if fundraising is more of your thing please drop luciewigley@tamba.org.uk an email to find out more.  To find out more about the Helping Hands service click here.

We’re also proud to share Clare’s story. She turned to Helping Hands when she was struggling to cope with her newborn triplets.
