Saving lives, supporting families

Create your own Tamba challenge

Have you got a fundraising idea of your own? We're happy to help you organise a Tamba challenge. In the past our supporters have done everything from walking the Great Wall of China, to taking on the Ironman Wales and cycling the Black Mountains to raise funds for Tamba.

These days, it's easy to get started setting up your own fundraising page through Virgin or Just Giving. Email luciewigley@tamba.org.uk for more information about how to organise your own Tamba Challenge.

Here are just a just a couple of examples of some personal challenges our supporters have taken on to help other families of multiples.

The Three Peak Challenge

Follow in Darren Eastell’s footsteps and climb the three highest mountains in Britain in under 24 hours.  That's Ben Nevis (4,409 ft), Scaffel Pike (3,209 ft) and Snowdon (3,560 ft).  Darren raised £440 and had this to say:

“I did this to raise money and awareness for TAMBA, as a father of twins I know how scary the heightened risk of my wife’s pregnancy was for me and in the end we were blessed with two healthy girls, but this unfortunately is not the case for everyone and just a small donation can help the people who need support in their time of need”.

The Great Manchester Swim

Hilary Corley raised more than £215 at the Great Manchester Swim despite having her original Great North Swim cancelled owing to heavy weather. Hilary and her three-year-old twins Phoebe and Hannah had a great day at Salford Quays instead.  Hilary donned her wetsuit for the one mile outside swim featuring a unique ‘dock to dock’ course.

“The change in venue meant they could watch me from the side all the way round,” said Hilary. “Tamba and our local twins group have been a continuing source of information and support since my husband Edward and I found out we were having twins, so raising this money for Tamba has been a small way to try to repay this”.
