Saving lives, supporting families

Leave a gift in your will

If Tamba has played an important part in your life maybe you would consider leaving us a gift in your will so that we can continue to offer help and support to multiple families in need.

Maybe you are a grandparent of twins, triplets or more, looking to secure the future of your loved ones by making a will?  After your loved ones have been provided for maybe you would consider leaving a legacy to Tamba?

For more detailed information about leaving a legacy to Tamba please take a look at at our legacy booklet, Make Your Will a Gift to the Future.  Please also involve your solicitor and discuss your exact wishes with them.

Making a Will is the only way to ensure that your assets go to the people and causes you want them to go to. You also minimise the tax you pay.  As we are a registered charity, leaving a gift is tax free and will reduce Inheritance Tax on your estate as the value of your gift will be deducted from your estate (your money, possessions and property) before Inheritance Tax is worked out.

A recent change in the law also means that from 6 April 2012, if you leave 10% of your net estate to charity, the Inheritance Tax due may be paid at a reduced rate of 36% instead of 40%, leaving even more for your loved ones.  For more information about this visit HM Revenue and Customs's inheritance tax page.

If you are considering leaving us a legacy and want to make provision in your will, you may find the suggested wording useful but it is important that you consult your solicitor, who will be able to give you invaluable advice:

"I give to Tamba (Twins and Multiple Births Association) (Registered Charity No. 1076478) of Manor House, Church Hill, Aldershot, Hants, GU12 4JU... (description of legacy)... to be used for its general charitable purposes and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or duly authorised officer shall be a valid and appropriate form of discharge"

Please let us know if you have already made provision for Tamba in your will by emailing shelleysmith@tamba.org.uk or if you are considering leaving us a gift but need further information.
